Hood Distribution in New Albany, IN is hiring a Full-time CDL Class B Driver/backup warehouse team member. The role combines driving lumber deliveries with warehouse duties, and offers the possibility to be home nightly.

You must have a valid CDL Class B and a clean driving record; automatic transmission; approx 60% driving, 40% warehouse. Responsibilities include delivering to cabinet/millwork shops and lumber dealers, loading/unloading, following dispatcher directions, assisting customers with

Qualifications

• Must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class B Driver’s License.
• Driving Record must be clean/good.
• Must possess some prior tarping experience as it relates to Truck Deliveries.
• Able to operate a forklift as needed.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
• Professional and customer-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• CDL Class B Truck Driver will deliver Lumber and Building Materials to Cabinet/Millwork Shops and Lumber Dealers.
• Follow Dispatcher/Trucking Logistics directions, ensuring all Trucking Deliveries are performed accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Assist Customers with unloading Trucks as needed.
• Ensure all delivered materials are properly loaded onto the Trucks and securely fastened for travel in accordance with Company Standards.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and maintain a Safe Working Environment at all times.
• Load and unload flatbed trailers.
• Yard and warehouse housekeeping.
• Identify and pull material for orders.
• Receiving and inventory cycle counting.
• Provide backup in the warehouse when needed.

Hood Distribution focuses on hardwood lumber wholesale, and since the Company is growing rapidly, we are looking for a Full-time CDL Class B Driver/backup warehouse to join our growing Team! This is a wonderful opportunity with the ability to be home nightly, great benefits, and room for advancement within the organization! Candidates wishing to be considered for the CDL Class B Driver position must possess a valid state’s CDL Class B driver’s license, and have a good driving record. Automatic transmission. Approximately 60% driving/40% warehouse.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• CDL Class B Truck Driver will deliver Lumber and Building Materials to Cabinet/Millwork Shops and Lumber Dealers
• Follow trucking Dispatcher/Trucking Logistics directions, ensuring all Trucking Deliveries are performed accurately, and in a timely manner
• Assist Customers with Unloading Truck as needed
• Ensure all Deliver Materials are properly loaded onto the Trucks and securely fastened for travel in accordance with Company Standards
• Comply with all DOT regulations and ensure a Safe Working Environment is maintained at all times
• Load and unload flatbed trailers
• Yard and warehouse housekeeping
• Identify and pull material for orders
• Receiving and inventory cycle counting

Salary: $22.00-$23.00/hour

QUALFICATIONS

• Must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class B Driver’s License

• Must be familiar with, and able to operate a Forklift as needed.
