Location: Carson, CA - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Counter Sales Representative is responsible for selling a variety of welding equipment, hard goods, power tools, safety supplies, and industrial gases to customers. The Inside Sales Representative provides top-notch assistance to customers in selecting the proper gauges and tools.

Target Hourly Range: $19 - $24 (DOE)

  1. Maintain a high level of customer service by assisting customers with will call, counter, and telephone sales.
  2. Analyze and expedite customer orders in a timely manner, recommending appropriate products and services.
  3. Enter sales data, quotes, or other relevant information into the inventory control system.
  4. Assist the manager in ordering appropriate merchandise to ensure stock remains at acceptable levels.
  5. Restock store merchandise and maintain current pricing on all store displays and products.
  6. Seek to expand the existing customer base across all product lines.
  7. Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
  8. Identify, monitor, and document competitive market activities by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  9. Ensure customer inquiries related to accounts receivable billing issues, cylinder balances, order status, delivery times, etc., are properly handled.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Are you a MATCH?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Two (2) year degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in customer service and/or sales.
  • Knowledge in welding, gases, industrial, safety supply sales preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper customer relationship and customer service practices.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations and conversions.
  • Team player attitude, able to work with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
  • Punctuality and adherence to work schedule.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime and on-call when necessary.
