Job summary

Southern Ice Equipment in Houston, part of the Baker Distributing family, seeks a Counter Sales Associate to enhance Food service line growth. You will provide sales and technical support, pricing, and inventory information, while assisting dealers and end users from a dynamic counter and inside-sales role.

You will handle quotes, up-sell items, arrange stock, and collaborate with sales teams to drive growth while following safety protocols and maintaining a professional workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with HVAC or foodservice equipment is preferred.
• Background in sales, operations, purchasing, or inventory management is favored.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Baker Distributing Company and Southern Ice Equipment to drive sales.
• Assist walk-in customers and provide product and pricing information.
• Process sales orders and up-sell related foodservice items.
• Sourcing, shipping parts, and manage inventory accuracy.
• Maintain showroom merchandising and organized product presentation.
• Support inside and outside sales teams to grow key product lines.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Communicate effectively with dealers and end users to resolve issues.
