Job summary

Harbor Steel is seeking an Inside Sales - Entry Level (Level I) to process orders and quotes from smaller customers. You will handle cash window orders, maintain customer relationships, and ensure timely responses. The role reports to the General Manager and involves coordinating with warehouse and other divisions to fulfill requests.

The position focuses on entry-level sales with emphasis on accuracy, prompt communication, and customer service excellence in a metals service center environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with warehouse to track order progress.
• Maintain contact with customers regarding order status.
• Verify and file customer purchase orders.
• Enter stock transfer requests into Metalware.
• Coordinate with other divisions for inter-division processing of customer orders.

POSITION TITLE: INSIDE SALES - ENTRY LEVEL (LEVEL I)

Inside Sales - Entry Level (Level I) is responsible for receiving and system entry of orders and requests for quotes from smaller and less complex customers, including handling of cash window customers. In general, this role will handle customer relationships with annual sales up to $50,000, COD customers and call-in orders from non-account customers.

POSITION REPORTS TO: General Manager

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enter quote/order into Metalware for material sales and "basic" processing
• Service cash window and will-call customers
• Establish relationships with customers by providing courteous and conscientious service
• Turn around requests for quotations to customers in a timely manner
• Interact with warehouse personnel to track order progress
• Maintain contact with customers regarding order status per customer request
• Verify and file customer purchase orders
• Entry of stock transfer requests into Metalware
• Communication with other divisions for inter-division processing of customer orders

QUALIFICATIONS:
