Job summary

Kenny Pipe & Supply, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales/Order Entry professional to support customers in Nashville with accurate order processing and timely material coordination.

You will quote materials, enter orders with PO and job details, and coordinate shipping to job sites while maintaining strong customer relationships and communicating pricing or product needs to the sales team.

Responsibilities

• Take customer sales orders in person, by phone, or email.
• Quote materials per customer requests and prepare pricing.
• Enter sales orders with purchase orders and job information.
• Coordinate shipping of materials to job sites or plants.
• Ensure paperwork is accurate, priced, and shipped to customers.
• Provide feedback to outside sales and branch manager on pricing or product needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and associates.
• Collaborate with outside sales on relationships and growth opportunities.
• Stay informed on industry news and trends to serve customers as a knowledge source.
• Allocate materials from branch inventory, other branches, or vendors as needed.

Essential Functions

• Take customer sales orders both in person and over the phone and/or email.
• Quote material per customer requests.
• Enter sales orders with necessary purchase orders and job information.
• Coordinate the sequence of shipping material to appropriate job site or industrial plant.
• Ensure paperwork is accurately entered, priced, and shipped to the customer.
• Provide feedback regarding any issues encountered with customer pricing, new product needs, or other issues to outside sales and branch manager.
• Build relationships with our customers and associates.
• Work with outside sales to discuss customer relationships and sales growth opportunities.
• Keep up to date on industry news and trends, offering our customers a source of current news and expertise.
• Allocate needed materials for orders with own branch inventory, another branch (via warehouse transfer), or outside vendor (via purchase order).

Work Environment

This position works in a branch's office setting, with some regular exposure to warehouse and pipe yard environments. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, and forklifts. Staff must be physically able to accomplish the demands of the job in the lifting and moving of material.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma-GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Industrial and Pipe, Valve, and Fitting experience required.
• Wholesale distribution experience preferred.
