We believe in sharing our successes, ensuring that everyone shares in the profits they generate and is recognized for their contributions.This position requires a combination of thorough knowledge of plumbing materials and their uses, with a commitment to providing superior customer service.Essential FunctionsTake customer sales orders both in person and over the phone.Accurately pick and consolidate orders.Display current promotional materials in a professional manner and remove any dated or damaged materials from public view.Build Relationships with our customers and associates.Keep up to date on industry news and trends, offering our customers a source of current news and expertise.Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in products, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associate for processing as needed in support of warehouse.Read customer orders, transfer orders, or shipping requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.Sort and place materials on racks/shelves/bins according to bin location.File paperwork related to customer orders, purchase orders, receiving, shipping, and transfers in appropriate designated area.Clearly mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.Help customers load all ordered material, including pipe.Assist in counting physical inventory.May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.Wear proper safety equipment.Be available to make deliveries as needed.CompetenciesCommunication Proficiency.Organizational Skills.Mathematical Skills.Computer Skills.Thoroughness.Time Management.Work EnvironmentThis position works in a branch’s counter setting, with some outdoor exposure in the pipe yard during the workday. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and filing cabinets and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, and forklifts.
