The Personal Lines Property Claims Team Leader will manage and direct claim investigation, determination of compensability, disposition, and settlement, ensuring compliance with corporate claim policies and procedures. They will manage allocated loss costs within budget guidelines and adhere to statutory, regulatory, and ethical standards. This individual will communicate and teach the company's vision, strategies, and plans, fostering staff development through training and coaching to enable optimal performance and goal achievement.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage Personal Lines Property Claim professionals and claim inventories.
  2. Oversee estimating accuracy and file quality.
  3. Use financial reporting tools to monitor reserve accuracy and trends.
  4. Communicate and teach the business vision, strategies, and goals.
  5. Manage change initiatives and explain drivers for business goals.
  6. Stay current on industry and marketplace trends impacting personal lines.
  7. Apply critical thinking to gather information, analyze, and make decisions.
  8. Manage claim assignment process based on claim complexity.
  9. Oversee investigation, disposition, and settlement of claims, ensuring compliance and ethics.
  10. Manage resolution of claims, deadlines, and resource use.
  11. Interpret and apply insurance coverage appropriately.
  12. Train, coach, and develop staff for performance and goal achievement.
  13. Evaluate performance using appraisal tools.
  14. Maintain dedication to customer expectations and requirements.
  15. Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives within the team.
  16. Lead among claim team leaders and provide expertise to team members.
  17. Act with integrity and adhere to ethical principles.
  18. Establish professionalism and credibility with customers.
  19. Analyze coverage effectively.
Qualifications
  1. Current leadership experience in Property Claims (preferred).
  2. Property estimating background (preferred).
  3. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (property preferred).
  4. Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching, and staff development skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to partner with internal and external customers.
  7. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  8. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Proven track record of timely follow-through on customer needs.
  10. Understanding of reserve accuracy related to claim exposures.
  11. Extensive knowledge of customer service and issue resolution.
  12. Strong understanding of financial and operational reports for analysis and planning.
Additional Information

This role offers Hybrid or Remote work options. Candidates near our office locations (Hartford, CT; San Antonio, TX; Lake Mary, FL; Scottsdale, AZ; Sunrise, FL; Naperville, IL) are expected to work in-office 3 days a week (Tue-Thu). Remote candidates should be prepared to visit an office as needed.

Compensation

The annual base pay range is $85,600 - $128,400, based on market analysis and individual factors such as performance and competencies. Compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition.
