Job summary

gFiber is hiring an Inside Plant Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain the company’s fiber network infrastructure, from central offices to customer premises. You will diagnose service-impacting issues, work with vendors, and ensure reliable connectivity for residential and small business customers.

The role requires extensive FTTH/GPON experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work non-standard hours including travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years FTTH/GPON deployment experience.
• 3+ years rack and stack in telecom environments.
• 3+ years handling ISP facilities and cabling.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain ISP-related plant and equipment.
• Troubleshoot network issues from backbone to central office/remote terminal.
• Coordinate with vendors and field partners for installations and repairs.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of ONTs, switches, and routers.
• Support customers with service restoration and high-quality issue resolution.
