Job summary

R.F. MacDonald Co. in Hayward is seeking an Inside Sales – Parts specialist to lookup and process parts for end-user customers in our area. The role also provides internal parts ordering support for the service organization and coordinates with purchasing and outside sales.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of industrial boiler components, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to multi-task, quote efficiently, and follow up on quotes and orders to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with order desks including phone orders.
• Familiar with industrial controls and industrial products.
• Experience with pipe fittings and electrical fittings is a plus.
• Strong customer service orientation and proactive problem solving.
• Ability to learn and use software like Field Centrix and MS Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Take incoming inquiries for parts by phone or email.
• Research each part request to provide accurate quotes and up-sell opportunities.
• Provide quotes with data sheets when needed.
• Follow up on quotes to ensure customer communication.
• Receive purchase orders and forward to Parts Purchasing Administrator for processing.
• Review billing reports with Parts Purchasing Administrator as needed.
• Assist with ETAs and PO discrepancies with vendors.
• Assist with collections for items over 90 days unpaid.
