Job summary

Mid City Scrap LLC in the New England region seeks an Outside Scrap Metal Buyer to develop and manage commercial scrap accounts across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This field-based role drives new business, purchases ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, and grows inbound material volumes while promoting container services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outside sales, account management, business development, or scrap purchasing experience.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a field sales environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• 2+ years of experience in Non-Ferrous scrap metal procurement.
• Experience in scrap metal recycling, waste management, construction, manufacturing, automotive recycling, or related industries preferred.

• Promote roll-off container and lugger services to existing and prospective customers.
• Prepare pricing proposals, negotiate service agreements, and coordinate container deliveries and pickups
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and scrap pricing trends.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide exceptional customer service to support retention and growth.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Requires standing, walking on uneven ground, bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
