Job summary

Nahan in Minnesota is seeking an Inserter Operator – Days to operate inserting equipment in a Direct Mail production line, ensure quality and efficiency, and support lean manufacturing standards. Your duties include setting up and running the inserter, reading run lists, maintaining equipment, training others to sort to USPS standards, and performing TPM tasks.

The role requires working 12-hour day shifts, weekends and overtime as needed, with a pay range of $18–$22 per hour and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain the inserter and inline equipment, including ink jet operations.
• Follow processes to meet quality, efficiency, and lean standards.
• Read run lists and complete sign-off/continuity procedures.
• Run and sort all normal jobs as a one-person operation.
• Complete mail sorting training and train others to sort per USPS standards.
• Perform TPM tasks to maintain equipment performance.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Job Title

Inserter Operator – Days – Direct Mail

Pay & Shift

Pay Band: 6-9 | Wage Range: $18–$22 per hour

Shift: 12 hour days, 7 AM – 7 PM (Pink or Blue)

Job Summary

An Inserter Operator is responsible for operating all functions of inserting equipment, ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while meeting stringent safety and lean manufacturing standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain the inserter and all associated in‑line equipment, including ink jet operations.
• Follow all established processes associated with the operation of the inserter and in‑line equipment while meeting quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement expectations.
• Read and follow run list instructions and sign‑off/continuity procedures.
• Perform all duties of setting up stations and packaging requirements.
• Run and sort all normal jobs as a one‑person operation.
• Run machines through cross‑over when operator starts a machine previously running.
• Complete mail sorting training/certification and train others to sort, following USPS standards.
• Complete all required paperwork and use timekeeping and the system efficiently.
• Attend and participate in scheduled Cost Center meetings.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with Nahan Lean manufacturing principles.
• Follow all Nahan safety & quality policy and procedures.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
