Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is staffing Registered Nurses for the Innovative Inpatient Care Model in the Centralized Virtual Acute Care Department. Virtual RNs support bedside teams via video calls, performing admissions, discharges, patient teaching, and medication reconciliation.

These are full‑time roles in the Virginia Beach area with evening shifts. Candidates must have an RN license, BLS within 90 days, and 5 years of acute care experience; BSN/MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN-Associate’s Degree/Compact Multi-State VA/NC required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse License required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS and ACLS preferred.
• Epic experience preferred.
• 5 years of recent acute care bedside nursing experience required.
• IMCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties via video call (admissions, discharges, teaching, medication reconciliation).
• Support bedside nurses to alleviate workload and improve patient experience.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant communications with patients in-hospital rooms.
