Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring Registered Nurses for the Innovative Inpatient Care Model in the Centralized Virtual Acute Care Department. This is not remote and requires on-site work at Sentara Independence office.

Virtual RNs will support bedside nurses via a HIPAA-compliant video system, handling admissions, discharges, patient teaching, and medication reconciliation. The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team to reduce workload and improve patient

Qualifications

• RN-Associate’s Degree required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse License required; BLS within 90 days of hire; NIHSS and ACLS preferred.
• Epic experience preferred; 5 years recent acute care bedside nursing experience required; IMCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide admissions, discharges, patient teaching, medication reconciliation via video calls.
• Collaborate with bedside nurses; support workload without hands-on care.
• Utilize HIPAA-compliant audio-visual device to communicate with patients in hospital rooms.
