Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Patient Care Assistant for the Ellison 7 unit, providing bedside support with daily living activities, vital signs, and instrumentation. The role involves day and night availability with rotating weekends and holidays.

The unit handles a wide range of trauma and post-surgical cases; candidates should be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and maintaining patient safety. Comprehensive benefits are offered, including shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician certification.
• Experience in patient care or elder care 0-1 year preferred.
• Proficient in computer skills to work with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks including vital signs, bathing, feeding, and 1:1 observation.
• Document measurements and intake/output in the EHR.
• Assist with admission and discharge of patients.
• Maintain stocked, clean patient rooms and equipment.
• Assist with phlebotomy and other exams as required.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to support care.
