Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Emergency Department. Working under licensed personnel, you assist patients with daily living activities and basic bedside tasks, including vitals and documentation, in a fast-paced ED setting.

The role features 36 hours per week across three 12-hour evening shifts (11 am–11 pm) with rotating holidays and weekends, onsite at 267 Charles Street.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CMA and Nursing Assistant certifications preferred.
• 0–1 year experience in patient care preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy within required time frames.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Helps patients with basic hygiene tasks including bathing and dressing, and feeding as needed.
• Assist with turning/repositioning and moving patients between bed and wheelchair.
• Report health concerns to nurses.
