Job summary

Dartmouth Health’s 35-bed medical-surgical unit is seeking an RN to care for diverse surgical patients, including thoracic, colorectal, and vascular cases. The role involves complex postoperative care, with opportunities to develop specialized skills in thoracic and colorectal procedures and participate in evidence-based practice.

Full-time, 3×12 hour shifts with day/night rotation. Requires BSN (preferred), NH RN license eligibility, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care using the nursing process.
• Monitor patient status and modify the plan as needed, escalating when appropriate.
• Advocate for patients per ANA Code of Ethics and assist with informed consent and family decision-making.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to nursing practice improvement and evidence-based care.
• Prioritize time management to optimize patient outcomes and ensure safe discharge planning.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Registered Nurse licensure (NH eligibility)

BLS certification
