Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time 2x12 hour schedule on a dynamic 35-bed medical-surgical unit. You will care for thoracic, colorectal, surgical oncology, general, and vascular surgery patients, with opportunities to participate in specialized postoperative pathways.

The role emphasizes critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and patient advocacy while you mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensed RN with NH eligibility.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Identify changes in patient status and modify the plan of care or escalate as needed.
• Advocate for patient autonomy and informed consent with ethical practice.
• Seek feedback and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Participate in governance and team collaboration to improve care.
• Mentor students and junior staff to advance nursing practice.
• Delegate care appropriately within legal and policy guidelines.
• Prioritize time management to optimize patient outcomes.
• Apply current evidence and standards to daily practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives.
