Mercy Health in Youngstown is seeking a Scheduling Secretary for Inpatient Surgery to manage the full cycle of surgical scheduling—from booking through post-operative charges. The role requires coordination with multiple hospital departments to ensure smooth, accurate scheduling and billing.

Responsibilities include confirming details with physicians, registering patients, and communicating changes to teams.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Experience with scheduling terminology in medical settings is desirable.

Mansioni

• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule all inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to accommodate special surgical needs.
• Complete and post surgical charges accurately and timely.
• Verify patient names, procedures, surgeons, and times with registration and preadmission testing.
• Communicate schedule changes to anesthesia, PAT, Registration and OR desks as needed.
