Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for the Inpatient Surgery Department at The Jewish Hospital. The role combines clinical supervision with administrative oversight to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

You will lead a team of nurses and support staff, partner with interprofessional teams, and drive readiness for regulatory surveys while nurturing a culture of excellence and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (strongly preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to patient care).
• Certifications based on unit oversight (PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NB Certification) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
• Supports managers/directors on larger units.
• Performs limited managerial responsibilities and works on ground support for frontline staff and assists in direct patient care as needed.
• Assists manager/director in planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives.
• Assists with managers/directors in planning and maintaining department's readiness for regulatory surveyors.
• Serves as professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.
• Responsible for personal and professional growth as well as fostering an environment where interdisciplinary team members can contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally.
• Responsible for modeling core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles.
• Facilitates implementation of change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives in assigned areas.
