Job summary

San Joaquin General Hospital seeks a Nurse Practitioner II-Inpatient in Surgery to deliver comprehensive primary and specialty care within the inpatient setting. The role involves histories, physicals, procedures, and coordination with physicians and clinical staff.

Qualifications include completion of an approved NP program, California NP certification, current furnishing license, and CIDP credentialing within 90 days of appointment. One year NP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program.

Responsibilities

• Elicits, records, and reviews medical histories; performs acute primary care pre-employment, annual, and routine exams.
• Coordinates health management with physician resources; provides guidance, treatment and referrals including family planning and STD programs.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests; administers vaccines and injections as needed.
• Identifies and manages acute and chronic conditions; follows physician protocols for treatment.
• Provides prenatal care and well-child examinations; conducts health screening assessments.
• Maintains records and participates in meetings, training and quality assurance.
