The Berkshire Medical Center invites applications for a Substance Abuse Counselor at Berkshire Connections in Pittsfield, MA. This full-time role (40 hours per week) involves onboarding patients, conducting initial assessments, coordinating treatment planning and facilitating educational groups within an inpatient setting.

Requirements include two years in the substance abuse field, a bachelor’s degree preferred, CADC/LADC preferred with 12-month completion window, and CPR certification within 3

Competenze

• Two years of experience in Substance Abuse Field, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services or any other related field preferred.
• CADAC - CADC or LADC I or II can be substituted for the above defined educational requirements and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• CPR Certified within 3 months of hire.

Mansioni

• The Substance Abuse Counselor provides direct care to substance abuse patients in all phases of their inpatient stay.
• Provides initial orientation session, an initial assessment, signs release of information consents, coordinates treatment planning, and conducts educational group activities.
• Functions as part of the multidisciplinary team to help patients and families increase coping skills and prepare for discharge.
• Practices professionally within Berkshire Medical Center Customer Service Standards.
