Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to deliver high-quality nursing care to acutely ill patients. The role requires a BSN (or ADN with commitment to BSN within three years), Illinois RN licensure, and BLS certification.

You will work 6p–2a with every third weekend and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans. You will participate in governance and unit projects, document patient care, and apply evidence-based practices to optimize

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN acceptable if you commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of starting in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, sets expected outcomes, and develops/implements an individualized care plan.
• Directs care and manages nursing support to ensure proper utilization.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents care plan and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
