Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist II (Inpatient) at the Frazier Rehab Institute in Louisville, KY to evaluate and treat patients, develop treatment plans, deliver services, and plan comprehensive discharge. Required are Kentucky licensure eligibility, BLS certification, and a bachelor’s degree; a Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible in Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or University

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and implements competent therapy treatment and provides regular re-assessments for the purpose of treatment modification, to maximize patients’ potential for functional independence.
• Communicates patient status by providing timely written or verbal communication to physicians and therapy customers (e.g., patients).
• Maintains effective working relations with patients, family members, internal customers, and external customers.
• Considers cost implications of treatment costs and resources to provide cost effective programming.
• Ensures patient charges and clinical documentation comply with regulatory standards and policies.
• Oversees rehab technicians, therapy assistants, and students according to acts and policies.
• Self-monitors workflow to ensure productivity and regulatory compliance; reviews staff work.
• Participates in program development, performance improvement activities, and community events.
• Responds to feedback professionally, showing listening, problem solving, and participatory management.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or University

Master’s or Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology degree
