Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an inpatient Speech Pathologist II to evaluate and treat patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinate comprehensive discharge planning within a collaborative team at our Louisville facility.

The role requires Kentucky licensure or eligibility, AHA BLS, and a bachelor’s degree. A master’s or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred, with duties including ongoing patient evaluation and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university is required.
• Licensed or eligible in Kentucky and BLS accreditation by the American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
• Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and implements therapy treatment with regular re-assessments to maximize functional independence.
• Communicates patient status to physicians and therapy customers through written or verbal updates.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relations with patients, families, internal and external customers.
• Ensures patient charges and corresponding clinical documentation comply with regulatory standards and department policies.
• Oversees rehab technicians, therapy assistants, and students; participates in program development and performance improvement.
