Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• CCC in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA or eligibility for Certification pending.
• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units.
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments.
• Document timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Completing patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriate.
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our team.
