Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current CCC in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience.
• BLS certification or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• Acute care experience (1 year) required.
• MBSS competency strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units.
• Interdisciplinary discussions; make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments.
• Document timely and accurately in the EMR per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on communication, cognition and swallowing as appropriate.
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
