Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care in an inpatient setting, applying the nursing process and independent judgment to achieve quality patient outcomes.

The role requires a current RN license (state or compact) and BLS within 30 days of hire. Nurses may start with less than 12 months of experience and work in a dynamic, patient-centered environment with ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using documentation and handoff tools.
• Creates a plan of care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnoses, interventions, evaluation).
• Performs adequate patient assessment and documentation.
• Uses Evidence-Based Practice in nursing care.
• Maintains patient-centered care and collaborates with the interprofessional team.
