Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking an inpatient Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process. The role requires applying clinical knowledge, independent judgement, and adherence to patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

Minimum qualifications include an active RN license and BLS certification within 30 days. Experience less than 12 months is noted; BSN is preferred. Scheduled nights and protracted hours are common in this role.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by the state where services will be provided or multi-state RN license through eNLC.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using proper documentation and handoff tools.
• Creates plan of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, interventions, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Identifies patient safety concerns and utilizes appropriate resources.
• Provides education tailored to individual learning needs of the patient.
• Assesses patient data to determine age-specific requirements and adjusts care accordingly.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents findings.
