Job summary

The RN inpatient Nurse at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center cares for ill patients, develops and implements care plans, administers medications, and maintains accurate medical records. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and patient education in a busy inpatient setting.

Night shift, 0.90 FTE, with a $5.00/hour night differential. A 10k sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants, and a 50% Penn State tuition discount program applies to employees and eligible dependents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Six (6) months RN experience required.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS required prior to orientation completion. Must be obtained through Penn State Health or American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS required on within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records.
• The inpatient RN administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
• The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects.
• The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
