The RCP performs routine and diagnostic cardiopulmonary care, maintains equipment, and participates in basic laboratory testing. BLS and ACLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must be certified or licensed in the state where the hospital resides to practice respiratory care.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Blood gas licensure required if employed in Nevada; high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine therapy, diagnostic and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Maintains all respiratory care equipment in working order.
• Provides phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing as required or requested.
