Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's White Oak Medical Center is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the Inpatient Therapy Department. You will perform initial examinations, develop plans of care, and supervise rehab staff across rehab sites as needed.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with day shifts. Applicants should hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, an active Maryland license, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active Maryland license or eligibility.
• AHA BLS/CPR certification.
• Clinical Fellowship eligibility welcomed.
• Experience in acute and inpatient rehab preferred; dysphagia/neurological impairments experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial examination and evaluation to establish diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care.
• Provide, or supervise, therapy interventions aligned with assessment results and plan of care.
• Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up with care team.
• Educate consumers and healthcare professionals about therapy benefits.
• Supervise rehab aides and document patient management activities.
• Participate in team meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
