Job summary

Spaulding Cape Cod is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join our inpatient rehabilitation team in Sandwich, MA. The physician will serve as the attending and collaborate with physiatrists, therapists, nurses, and case managers to guide patient care during rehabilitation.

The role focuses on direct patient care in a community-based setting, with opportunities for training in rehabilitation medicine and a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for licensure in Massachusetts.
• Inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred.
• Interest in rehabilitation care or working in an interdisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the attending physician for 12–16 medically complex inpatient rehabilitation patients.
• Provide comprehensive medical management including daily rounding, admission H&Ps, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Average 1 - 2 admission per day.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support care planning and discharge readiness.
• Respond to Rapid Response Team activations and medical codes as needed.
• Participate in the call rotation, including weekends (typically 1:8).
• Attend staff meetings and engage in hospital administrative activities as assigned.
• Optional opportunity to receive training in rehabilitation medicine.
• Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
