Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an inpatient Staff Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients in Illinois. The role requires a BSN, Illinois RN license, and BLS, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and evidence-based practice.

The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, coordinate with physicians and the health team, and document outcomes. ADN holders may apply if they commit to earning a BSN within three years.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Illinois Registered Nurse license required; BLS required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff. Creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and individualizes the plan of care based on findings.
• Utilizes evidence-based practice to guide care decisions.
