Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse Inpatient to join our patient-centered team in Illinois. You will provide comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill patients, coordinating with physicians and staff to deliver safe, evidence-based care during 12-hour shifts.

The role requires a BSN (or ADN with plan to obtain BSN) and an Illinois RN license, with BLS. Responsibilities include care planning, collaboration, and participation in governance and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or eligible to obtain one.
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Commitment to pursuing BSN within 3 years if ADN holder.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, sets outcomes, and coordinates individualized care plans.
• Directs care and guides any nursing assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and staff to document care plans and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates plans accordingly.
• Utilizes evidence-based findings to guide nursing practice decisions.
