Job summary

Indiana University Health Fort Wayne Hospital is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to support inpatient units, including intensive care, progressive care, and medical-surgical patients.

The role requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited PTA program, Indiana PTA certification, and BLS. You will provide skilled PT services under a PT, develop and follow plans of care, educate patients and families, document care, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant education program.
• Requires certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to patients across the lifespan.
• Implements treatment interventions established in the plan of care to address mobility, strength, balance, and function.
• Collaborates with patients, caregivers and the care team to support outcomes and safe transitions of care.
• Assists with training and mentorship of students and support personnel as appropriate.
• Completes documentation, coding, and charge capture in compliance with requirements.
• Initiates referrals when patient needs fall outside the scope of physical therapy.
