Job summary

Qualifications

• Active Indiana PTA license or eligibility.

Role Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a full-time, on-site role located in West Lafayette, IN. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, gait training, and functional activities for patients across a variety of clinical conditions. Daily responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments, implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting care in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards, and communicating effectively with the care team. The PTA will also help educate patients and families on home programs, support safe use of equipment, and contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Demonstrated skills in therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and safe patient handling.
• Ability to accurately document clinical care and follow established treatment plans and protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professional judgment.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Current hands on CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
