Springfield Hospital, Inc. seeks an Inpatient Physical Therapist to deliver comprehensive patient care in inpatient, ED, and outpatient settings as needed.

You will design individualized rehabilitation plans, evaluate progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maximize functional outcomes in a rural healthcare environment. The role requires a VT-licensed PT and strong communication skills; preferred applicants hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required.
• Current Physical Therapist license in Vermont in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy in inpatient setting using the PT process to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Provide care in Emergency Department and outpatient settings as needed.
• Develop individualized rehabilitation programs including assessment, planning, implementation, education, and ongoing communication.
• Evaluate patients recovering from surgery, trauma, or illness and create tailored strategies to improve mobility and independence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide hands-on therapy and educate patients and families.
• Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare providers for coordinated, quality care in a rural setting.
• Assist in admission decisions, discharge planning, and consideration for further placement.

Description

The Inpatient Physical Therapist will:

• Utilize the physical therapy process to deliver comprehensive patient care in an inpatient setting.
• Deliver comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department and outpatient setting as needed.
• Carry out individualized programs that encompass assessment, treatment planning, implementation, education, and ongoing communication, all aimed at maximizing each patient's progress toward achieving functional goals.
• Evaluate patients recovering from surgery, trauma, or acute illness, creating tailored rehabilitation strategies to enhance mobility, strength, and overall functional independence.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, provide hands-on therapy and educate patients and their families on effective recovery techniques.
• Meticulously document patient progress and communicate with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and optimal care within the unique challenges of a rural healthcare environment.
• Assists in the decision making for patient admission, discharge planning, and if further placement may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. (preferred)
• Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
• Current Physical Therapist license in Vermont in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $38.80 - $53.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
