Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Per Diem/Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide expert therapy aimed at improving mobility, function, and quality of life. The therapist will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement age-appropriate interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires CAPTE-accredited PT education, NYS licensure, BLS/CPR, and strong communication. Per diem scheduling supports a flexible inpatient coverage model at our Long Island campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Current NYS Physical Therapy license and registration or limited permit.
• Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs an objective functional evaluation with tests and measures and establishes a plan of care with measurable goals.
• Implements interventions as indicated by patient status and plan of care.
• Maintains accurate documentation reflecting examination, evaluation, and plan of care.
• Interacts with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and provides on-site supervision to PTAs and Rehab Aides.
• Evaluates progress toward goals and modifies the plan of care as needed.
• Educates patient, family, and clinician regarding patient status and plan of care.
