Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island, a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center, is seeking a Physical Therapist, Per Diem / Inpatient. The candidate provides therapy to improve mobility, function, and quality of life, using clinical expertise to plan safe, age-appropriate care through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Physical Therapy; CAPTE-approved program.
• Current NYS Physical Therapy license and registration or limited permit.
• Current and valid BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Preferred: Master's or DPT; 1–2 years inpatient or orthopedic rehab experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Conducts objective functional evaluations with tests and measures; develops a plan of care with measurable goals.
• Implements interventions based on patient status, diagnosis, and age within the plan of care.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation of examination, evaluation, prognosis, and plan of care; education provided.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to optimize outcomes; provides on-site supervision to aides.
• Assesses progress toward goals and adjusts the plan of care as needed.
• Educates patient, family, and clinician about functional status and plan of care.
