Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training or license or intern/extern license.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in college of pharmacy or ASHP/ACPE program.
• No criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills under supervision.
• Ability to learn effective written and communication skills.
• Ability to learn customer service skills.
• Typing and Microsoft Office applications proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, supports the pharmacy department in inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing of medications and supplies.
• Assist with medication processing including answering phones, taking refills, entering orders, preparing medications for pharmacist check.
• Assist in bulk compounding and preparation of I.V. solutions; maintain records and inventory; deliver supplies.
