Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training or Indiana Pharmacy Technician License or intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or ASHP/ACPE program.
• No criminal history related to drugs.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing of medications and supplies, specialty medications, and medication histories.
• Answer telephones and take refill orders; enter orders into the system; prepare medication for pharmacist check.
• Prepare medications for disbursement/shipment/delivery; maintain records and distribute supplies.
• May assist in bulk compounding and preparation of IV solutions; minimize medication errors with pharmacy staff.
