Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Part-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our inpatient pharmacy team.

This role supports dispensing under pharmacist supervision, with duties including filling, delivering medications, maintaining supplies, and using Epic and Omnicell systems. A Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required; CPhT preferred; High School Diploma required; 24 hrs per week with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required in the state of practice.
• CPhT License (via NHA or PTCB) preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information (e.g., Epic).
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.
