Job summary

Sentara is hiring a Part-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates and the position is part-time (24 hrs/week).

Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications under supervision, ensuring adequate supplies, and using hospital systems for processing patient information. Virginia tech license is required; CPhT preferred.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required in the state of practice.
• CPhT license (through NHA or PTCB) preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.

• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician's scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.

• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care

• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed

• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
