MercyOne Dubuque, part of Trinity Health, is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Trainee to assist pharmacists and staff in inpatient and outpatient care. You will help dispense medications, prepare IV admixtures, and support daily operations under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements include eligibility for Iowa Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days, completion of national technician certification within 1 year, and mandatory abuse reporting training within 6 months.

Qualificações

• Must be 17.5 years of age or older.
• Typing, clerical and science background desirable.
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
• Pass the test for and maintain national technician certification as outlined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 1 year of employment.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.

Responsabilidades

• Works with and assists pharmacists and nurses with pharmacy related issues for patients and facilitates the implementation of physician orders.
• Performs dispensing functions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Prepares IV admixtures as well as any other sterile preparation encountered in pharmacy according to departmental policies.
• Makes regular deliveries of medications to nursing units.
• Processes Unit Based Cabinet Refill Reports and promptly delivers / resupplies medications to the nursing units.
• Answers and processes incoming phone calls to the department.
• Assists with department inventory procedures and processes.
• Processes patient medication charges and credits accurately into pharmacy and / or hospital information system.

Formação académica

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Trainee. As an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Trainee at MercyOne, you will be under the supervision of a pharmacist, the inpatient pharmacy technician trainee assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients ranging in age from premature newborns to geriatrics. The inpatient pharmacy technician trainee is involved in the provision of educational and employee services to patients, guests, hospital and medical staff of MercyOne Medical Center.

Education

• · Must be 17.5 years of age or older.
• · Typing, clerical and science background desirable.
• · Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
• · Pass the test for and maintain national technician certification as outlined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 1 year of employment. If unable to pass the test within 1 year of employment, the employee will need to be terminated from the pharmacy technician trainee position.
• · Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
