Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque, part of Trinity Health, is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor to lead the 24-hour inpatient pharmacy operations. The role requires pharmacy leadership, ensuring care quality and budget goals while guiding a skilled staff.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, licensure in Iowa, and 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience with administration or supervisory duties. Advanced degrees (Pharm.D. or MS) are preferred. Strong MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy required.
• Pharm.D. or Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy preferred.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
• Registers with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist in Charge and ensures responsibilities are followed.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in Iowa in good standing or eligible for registration.
• 5 years hospital pharmacy experience with administration or supervision preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Inpatient Pharmacy Department
• Be responsible for achieving established quality and financial budget outcomes
• Select, develop, and maintain a team of competent staff
• Hold self and team accountable for achieving the highest level of quality of care, customer service, and employee satisfaction, and recognizes the contribution for desired results
• Driven to meet and exceed customer expectations
• Assist the Pharmacy Director in setting the long- and short-range goals of the Pharmacy based on developments and trends in an institutional pharmacy practice and the specific needs of the institution and its patients

General Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy required.
• Advanced education such as Pharm.D. Degree or Master of Science degree in Hospital Pharmacy with equivalent curriculum preferred.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
• Registers with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and assures that all aspects of that responsibility are followed.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Iowa in good standing or eligible for registration.
• 5 years experience in hospital pharmacy with experience in administration, supervision or other leadership or management role preferred.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet.
