Job summary

Qualifications

• Experienced, fully competent in own area covering a wide range of tasks; completes own role independently or with minimal supervision.
• Complete understanding of general and technical aspects of the job.
• Ability to provide resolutions to a wide range of problems within defined policies and practices.
• Minimum education and typical experience or equivalent combination to work with limited autonomy under moderate direction.
• Routine work requires no direction; work evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
• Career level B3.

Responsibilities

• Mix pharmaceutical preparations, fill bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and type labels for bottles.
• Assist pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Count stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Process records of medication and equipment dispensed to hospital patients, compute charges, and enter data in computer.
• Prepare IV (intravenous) packs using sterile technique under supervision of hospital pharmacist.
• Clean equipment and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods.
• Type and file reports, and complete forms as directed.
• Assist in stocking shelves, checking prices, and maintaining inventory.
• For higher‑level technicians: work closely with drug wholesalers and manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted provision of medications and ensure robot completes daily assignments on time and accurately.
