Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state requirements.
• Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT) within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and pharmacy procurement.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Record and manage inventory, outdates, and related documentation.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards; sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Ensure proper storage and inspection of medication areas.
• Document admission histories and data entry for record keeping.
• Support training of technicians and extenders as needed.
• Abide by policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with billing information and patient demographics as applicable.
