OU Health in the United States is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II to support medication preparation, distribution, and sterile compounding under pharmacist supervision.

The position emphasizes increasing independence, daily inpatient operations, and serving as a resource for Pharmacy Technician I staff. You will work closely with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of experience as a pharmacy technician required.
• License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Active permit as a Pharmacy Technician by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, labels, and delivers medications accurately and timely under pharmacist supervision.
• Independently fills automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), unit dose cassettes, and medication carts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
• Performs sterile and non‑sterile compounding, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and TPN per USP 797/800 and standards.
• Restocks and maintains crash carts, emergency kits, and decentralized locations per schedules and docs.
• Enters, fills, and documents medication orders in the pharmacy system and EMR.
• Assists with batch preparation of sterile products and supports IV room workflow.
• Maintains cleanliness and inventory in assigned areas including IV rooms and satellites.
• Troubleshoots ADCs, barcode scanning, and workflows.
• Monitors inventory levels, expiration dates, and usage trends; escalates concerns.
• Assists with receiving/checking in and shelving medications and supplies.
• Participates in daily inventory counts and reports discrepancies to leadership.
• Communicates with pharmacists and nurses to resolve medication issues.
• Assists onboarding/training for Pharmacy Technician I staff.
• Complies with regulatory, safety, infection control, and quality standards.
