Ochsner Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations, preparing sterile admixtures and chemotherapy products under pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities include accurate compounding, data entry, and operating specialized equipment. Requires a high school diploma, 6 months of experience, and current certification with a 90‑day Sterile Product Preparation certificate window.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification in the state of practice required.
• Sterile Product Preparation Certificate within 90 days of hire (or 5 years IV production experience acceptable with 90 days to obtain).
• Proficiency with data entry and patient information retrieval.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and chemotherapy safety guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Assist pharmacists and technicians to maintain efficient medication distribution.
• Accurately prepare sterile admixtures and chemotherapy products using aseptic techniques.
• Perform mathematical calculations for sterile admixtures.
• Operate and maintain specialized pharmacy equipment and software.
• Ensure sterility and cleaning of IV rooms per protocol.
• Commit to patient privacy and effective communication.
