Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists, stock medications, and ensure safe, accurate medication delivery within a hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6–12 months pharmacy technician experience, and state licenses on hire, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. This is a PRN position within inpatient pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months related pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• 6 months hospital environment experience preferred.
• Maryland state registration and national license required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists by obtaining patient information for safe medication management.
• Stock and store medications per par levels with proper labeling.
• Label medications with expiration dates and warnings while ensuring safety standards.
• Prepare sterile products and hazardous/CSP medications following procedures.
• Transport medications to patient units and ensure timely delivery.
• Inspect returned/expired medications and manage stock per regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
